Beier had made miniature cameras before the war but found itself under Soviet control at the war's end. They would
eventually end up as part of VEB Pentacon making inexpensive cameras for the Western market. In the UK Beirette
cameras would come to be associated with Boots who distributed them from the early Sixties right through to the
Eighties, but this earlier example was imported into the UK by JJ Siber and has a different lens and shutter release position.
