Beirette

Beirette
lens 45mm f3.5 Meyer-Optik Trioplan
shutter 3-speed Junior II (1/30,1/60,1/125)
Beier had made miniature cameras before the war but found itself under Soviet control at the war's end. They would eventually end up as part of VEB Pentacon making inexpensive cameras for the Western market. In the UK Beirette cameras would come to be associated with Boots who distributed them from the early Sixties right through to the Eighties, but this earlier example was imported into the UK by JJ Siber and has a different lens and shutter release position.
